Join WCMU Public Media for a preview of Leonardo da Vinci, a new two-part, four-hour PBS documentary directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns, and David McMahon. This film explores how the artist influenced and inspired generations to come, delving into the profound questions of our relationship with nature and what it means to be human. Leonardo da Vinci traces the artist's evolution as a draughtsman, painter, scientist, and engineer. Through his notebooks, he explored an astonishing range of subjects, including painting, philosophy, engineering, warfare, anatomy, and geography. Although he intended to publish his writings, he never did; the film examines these writings to provide insight into his quest to master the laws of nature and apply them to his diverse endeavors.
The film will air in its entirety on WCMU on November 18 and 19 at 8PM. This is a FREE event, but registration is required.
