An eclectic mix of traditional brass band classic, marches, transcriptions, featured solos, contest pieces, pop and jazz played by some fo the finest brass players in northern Michigan.
The all-volunteer Northern Michigan Brass Band is a 30-piece, British-style brass and percussion ensemble consisting of 1 Eb cornet, 9 Bb cornets, 1 flugelhorn, 3 horns, 2 baritones, 3 trombones, 2 euphoniums, 2 Eb basses, 2 Bb basses and percussion.
The program includes "Wiener Philharmonic Fanfare" by Richard Strauss, "Symphonic Concert March" by G. Bonelli, "Colonial Song" by Percy Grainger, 1st suite from "Pineapple Poll" by Arthur Sullivan and Charles Mackerras, "Archduke Albrecht March" by Karl Komzák, "Farewell to a Slavic Woman" by Vasily Agapkin, "Elton John in Concert" arranged by Don Hamilton, "Sing Sing Sing" by Louis Prima, and "The Chimes of Liberty" by Edwin Franko Goldman.
